Project Description:
Land O'Lakes International Development is seeking candidates for the Project Director position for skills development for economic growth project in Sri Lanka. The projected four-year project will partner with businesses and educational and training institutions to build the skills demanded by industry and link youth to private sector jobs.
Position Summary:
The Project Director shall be responsible for leading and managing the overall USAID Career Development Activity. The Project Director shall work closely with USAID, Project Directors of other USAID activities contributing to the same project purpose, as well as senior‐level host country government and private sector representatives.
Reporting & Supervision:
The Project Director will oversee a staff of project employees. S/he will report to Land O’Lakes’ Regional Program Director.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven track record engaging private sector and educational institutions to collaborate on employment and employability programs
Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning, training, and human resource management
Advanced knowledge of Sri Lanka’s socio‐economic context
Advanced knowledge of Sri Lanka’s higher education and vocational education systems
Strong multi‐cultural, inter‐personal, and supervision skills
Ability to deliver effective presentations and write high quality technical reports
Excellent ability to collaborate and coordinate activities with multiple stakeholders, including government, education, business, and individuals
At least 10 years of experience successfully managing projects in the field of workforce development and/or higher education, with preference for eight years or more in a development country context
Ability to think outside the box, solve problems, and build teams and partnerships
A Master’s Degree in an appropriate interdisciplinary field such as education, management, business administration, or related field
Business proficiency, written and spoken, in English.
