Introduction
The Joint Federal Government of Somalia (FGS)-United Nations (UN) Programme aims to capitalise on recent security, governance and reconciliation achievements by expanding employment opportunities for young men and women in Somalia. The programme recognizes the centrality of youth in fostering stability in the country and outlines specific interventions to help in generating decent work opportunities for young people that will serve as positive alternatives to participation in violence and conflict.
The ILO and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs seeks to identify potential TVET institutions with the capacity to deliver competency based training for young Somali men and women in Mogadishu, Kismayo, Beledweyne, Abudwaq, Baidoa, Jowhar, Bossaso and Berbera. The specific outcome is to enhance the long-term employability of youth through vocational training, self-employment and increase job placements opportunities for Somali youth through the provision of market driven skills training and by strengthening strategic linkages among TVET providers with public and private sector actors.
Objectives
• To identify potential TVET service providers (both public and private) delivering competency-based skills training in Somalia.
• To carry out a capacity assessment of potential TVET (IBTVET & EBTVET) providers and institutions in Somalia. The assessment will focus on skills/trade courses information, information on practical training facilities, information on teaching faculty, information on students and relationship with local enterprises/service providers
Scope of Work
TVET service providers henceforth shall be referred to as the applicants. Applicants will be required to furnish and submit the following supporting documentation for the mapping and assessment of their institutions or centres as followings:

Terms and Conditions

- Incomplete application on the online survey will be liable for rejection and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- The evaluation shall be mainly based on the eligibility criteria, other factors like timely completion, and resources of the applicant, pre-qualification with other institutions / works etc., logistical support of the applicant, their financial capabilities, quality consciousness, etc. will be considered as added qualifications.
- ILO expects that the TVET centres or institutions will furnish all the required information in the online survey.
