Position Summary
The Senior Manager for InterAction’s Executive Office is responsible for the smooth operations, public outreach, strategy development, Board engagement, and policy efforts of InterAction’s Executive Office. The role includes a combination of management, administrative support, messaging development, and substantive content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the CEO by managing engagement with high-level external partners, CEOs of Member organizations, and InterAction’s Board of Directors.
- Scheduling internal and external meeting requests, managing the CEO’s extensive domestic and international travel, overseeing the Executive Office’s budget, maintaining financial records, managing correspondence and invoices/receipts, contract negotiations, and maintaining an Executive Office electronic filing system.
- Manage InterAction’s strategic plan reporting, special projects, including the Fellows program, and engage external audiences.
- Draft/refine policy documents, speeches, talking points, blogs, articles, correspondence, and other communications in collaboration with the CEO, including CEO Corner, a newsletter sent to all Member executives.
- Coordinate all aspects of the Board meetings, including setting internal deadlines, preparing and assembling Board books, taking minutes, overseeing Board Committees, staffing the Nominations Committee, and onboarding of new Board members.
- Manage the CEO’s fundraising and outreach to donors, and overseas all Executive Office outreach.
- Support the planning and execution of high-level events on behalf of the CEO, including CEO Retreat; Forum CEO Track and Plenaries; Annual CEO Retreat; Women’s CEO Retreat; and InterAction’s annual Member meetings.
- Working with the CEO and InterAction’s Executive Team, the Senior Manager is responsible for the development and assessment of InterAction’s strategic plan.
- Provide political and strategic advice and oversee the development of all Board papers, including the organizational dashboard.
- Assist with project management and facilitation of NGO Futures team, an InterAction initiative to evolve NGO’s ability to adapt, to change, and shape their impact.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields
- Three to five years of professional experience in international policy, development, public administration, public policy, or business

Qualifications Desired:
- Masters or equivalent work experience preferred but not required
Knowledge of or previous work experience in an international development organization
Experience supporting and coordinating the administrative functions of an extremely busy executive
Work with an NGO or a government agency engaged in foreign policy or multilateral institutions
Work with Board of Directors
Knowledge of Board governance
Fundraising experience
Other Duties
Work with InterAction staff in support of the work of the entire organization.
Coordinate Executive Office interns as needed.
Take on new tasks, as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, to meet the needs of a dynamic and growing organization.
