Background
Employment-intensive investments, led by the ILO's Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP), infrastructure development with employment creation, poverty reduction and local economic and social development.
The programme focuses on improving livelihoods by providing green cash-for-work opportunities for vulnerable Jordanian citizens as well as Syrian refugees. Syrian and Jordanian women and men contribute to the improvement of local infrastructure with a focus on green works.
The program has played a critical role in facilitating green jobs creation that follow the principle of decent work and help enhance overall employability.
Assignment
ILO would like to hire the services of a media and visibility consultant. She/He will be responsible for overall project visibility in line with ILO and donor’s visibility procedures. She/He will work in close contact with the EIIP project manager and ILO’s regional communication and public information officer.
The consultant will be responsible for supporting strategies that increase project’s visibility on international/regional/local level to different stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries, as well as to general audience. All duties performed by the media and visibility consultant will be in line with ILO rules and procedures, as well as donors’ requirements.
Deliverables
- Deliverable No. 1: Produce four short videos, around 3 minutes each for the projects that show success stories by developing and filming interviews with; workers during the works, workers benefited from the project, training sessions, seminars, stakeholders, implementing partners, and governmental officials. Each video to be delivered in two versions: a fully edited and subtitled version, and a clean (international) version.
- Deliverable No. 2: 10 photo sessions for the projects’ activities and locations. Each day shall produce 30 high quality photos with captions for all the photos with names, locations, dates and short description for individuals and groups that will be used in the project publications.
- Deliverable No. 3: Draft and publish 4 press releases for the projects activities and pitch them to national Arabic and English language newspapers and news sites.
- Deliverable No. 4: Prepare seven (2) articles that show the project’s success stories and progress.
- Deliverable No. 5: 3 workdays of full support to the project managers to increase the project’s visibility.
Notes:
- The ILO has the full copyright of all draft and final products.
- The video shooting and photo sessions will be conducted in different governorates (Amman, Mafraq and Irbid). Transportation will be provided by ILO

- All deliverables to be submitted as draft prior to obtain the final approval.
- The articles to be written in English and Arabic language.

- The consultant shall Obtain the signed Declaration of consent from all concerned beneficiaries (declaration to be provided by the ILO).
- The consultant shall provide the video and photos on external hard drive, i.e USB.

Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria will be carried out based on the following:
- Technical experience related to the assignment requirements and qualifications.
- Detailed work plan and timeframe for delivering the assigned duties.
- Portfolio and sample of previous work related to requested deliverables
- Financial proposal to complete the job. Including proposed daily rates, unite rate and total unite rates
A panel from ILO Amman, consisting of two representatives from the technical side will review the submitted applications carefully.
Required Profile
- Profile:
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in conducting similar media and visibility activities.
- Proven experience in achieving the requested deliverables.
- Excellent writing skills in English and Arabic.
- Consultant must demonstrate good media contacts with national news outlets.
- Previous experience with the UN is an asset.
- Experience in editing and copywriting, including articles, reports, social media content, and press releases
- Experience in video and photo Shooting, editing and design software is an asset
- Similar projects:
- knowledge of context or experience in media and visibility field.
Payment Modality
The payment modality will be on monthly basis (subject to complete monthly assigned deliverables)
